Think about the last time someone in your community wanted to donate on their phone. They opened a website, found the donate button, chose a fund from a dropdown, typed their name, email, address and card number, and hoped the page would not time out. Some of them made it to the end.
Every step is a chance to stop
A traditional online donation often takes seven or more steps before any money moves. Each one is a moment where a notification, a crying child or a slow connection wins. The intention was there, but the gift never arrived.
A chat is already open
With WhatsApp giving, the donor taps a cause on your giving page or scans a poster, and a message opens with the cause and amount already written. They press send. Your team replies with a secure payment link, the donor pays with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card, and the confirmation lands in the same chat.
- No new account: the donor's WhatsApp number is who they are.
- No retyping: the cause and amount travel in the first message.
- A real person: questions about Zakat get answered in the same thread.
It suits every generation
Younger donors live in their chats and expect giving to feel as quick as sending a voice note. Older donors already use WhatsApp with their family every day and are far more comfortable replying to a message than filling in a form. Meeting both where they already are is the simplest way to raise more.
