How to delete your data
Last updated October 1, 2026
If you gave to a masjid
Your donations go to the masjid or organization you gave to; OneTaj runs the platform for them. To have your personal data deleted, ask that masjid, or email [email protected] with the WhatsApp number or email address you used. We confirm it is you before deleting anything.
What is deleted
- Your name, phone number, email and address on the donor record.
- Your WhatsApp conversations with the masjid: the message text and attachments.
- Your marketing choices, saved links and the masjid's notes about you.
- Your details in delivery logs and stored copies of payment and WhatsApp events.
What is kept
The masjid must keep its accounts: the amount, date, fund and receipt number of each donation stay in its books, without your name or contact details. Tax receipts already issued are not changed.
If you run an organization or are on its team
You can delete your own account in Settings → Profile → Delete account: your sign-in details and profile are removed at once. An organization that has received donations can't be deleted, because its donation records must be kept: email [email protected] to close it and it will be archived instead. The organization's owner or a manager can remove a team member.
How long it takes
We complete deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email.

If you messaged an organization on Instagram or Messenger
Write to the same organization again in that chat and ask for your data to be deleted. Any person on its team can start the request, and it has 30 days to complete it. What the organization keeps of you from that chat is your account number on Instagram or Messenger and the messages you wrote. Deleting your data removes both. You can also email [email protected] and tell us the organization and the Instagram or Facebook name you wrote from. We confirm it is you before deleting anything.
