A donor's WhatsApp is full of family groups, friends and work. A masjid that earns a place there has been given real trust, and it can lose it with one message too many.

Ask first, every time

Only message people who have said yes. The simplest moment to ask is right after a donation: “Would you like a short reminder before Jummah and during Ramadan?” A clear yes is worth more than a thousand imported phone numbers, and WhatsApp's rules require opt-in for this kind of message anyway.

A calendar donors can predict

  • Thursday evening: one line and one link for Jummah giving.
  • Ramadan: the start of the month, the last ten nights and before Eid.
  • Milestones: when a project reaches its goal.

Predictable messages feel like a service. Surprise messages feel like marketing.

Use approved templates

Messages sent outside an open conversation go through WhatsApp-approved templates. Keep them short, name the masjid, and always give people a simple way to stop hearing from you. Respecting that request immediately is part of the trust.

Measure the right thing

Watch how many people give after a reminder, and how many ask to stop. If the second number grows, send less. Fewer, better messages almost always raise more over a year.
