Even the most digital masjid still passes a box after Jummah. Some regulars prefer a bank transfer, others hand an envelope to the imam. If those gifts live in a notebook while online donations live in a dashboard, nobody ever sees the full picture.
Record offline gifts as donations
Add cash and bank transfer gifts as donations against the right cause, marked with the payment method: Cash at the masjid or Zelle / bank transfer. Where you know the donor, link the gift to their WhatsApp number so their history is complete and they can receive a thank-you message.
A simple Friday routine
- Two people count the box and agree the total before it leaves the room.
- One entry per cause: if the box was for the building fund, record it there; if it was general, record it as Lillah.
- Mark it Received once the money is banked, so pending and received totals stay honest.
Bring past fundraising into your goals
If a project was running before you moved online, enter the amount already raised as offline raised on the cause. The progress bar on your giving page then reflects the whole campaign, not just the part that happened in WhatsApp.
Why it matters
Treasurers, auditors and donors all ask the same question: how much was raised, and where did it go? One list with every donation, online and offline, answers it in seconds.
